This unique, antique reproduction of a British campaign chest is the same style used in 1700s-1800s. Campaign chests were designed to be packed up and carried on the march and have been used by traveling armies since at least the time of Julius Caesar but commonly associated with British Army officers, many of whom had purchased their commissions. British officers of high social position in the Georgian and Victorian periods (1714â1901) often carried high-quality portable campaign furniture. Measuring 10-1/2’w x 11’h x 6-1/4’d, this exclusive campaign chest features a removable interior, 2 – 4′ x 4-1/2′ compartment shelf exposing a full dimension, middle storage compartment underneath. Two smaller bottom pull out, sliding drawers measure 4-1/2′ x 3-1/4′. A brass padlock-ready latch, drawer pulls and top lid handle add to the detail of this excellent looking piece. Made of durable mango and teak wood, beautifully mahogany stained and finished with beeswax, Makes for an outstanding, unique gift item or complement to similar decor.
